Hi,
My name is Guy Wooles and I’m an artist and designer.
Twelve years ago I set up the Paper Penguin Project as a final
year piece of work for my degree in Fine Art in Context. The
project was designed to be a fun and interesting as well as
educational but sadly it has lain dormant for a few years so
now I've decided to reinvigorate the site and get it up and
running again.
I am planning to provide educational and conservation information
on the site as well as a page for penguin/wildlife related worksheets
for educational establishments as well as individuals. So if
there's anything you think I might include on the site or you
have any ideas or information I can use I would appreciate your
suggestions.
If you would like to take part in the project by taking one
of my penguins and documenting its experiences with you it could
be an interesting and fun way to show people the work that you
do. Also you could use it as a vehicle to raise issues that
you are currently dealing with.
I assume this is the first you have heard of the Paper Penguin
Project so all the information can be found on the site for
you to decide whether you would like to get involved in the
project.
I have had penguins at the North Pole, New Zealand and Hong
Kong – to name but a few. So they are already well travelled!
I have added your link to my site and was also hoping that
you might place my link on your site. If you don’t think
it appropriate this does not mean that I will remove your link.
Thank you for your time

Hi Guy
This is an awesome project. We would love to be involved, if
possible on an even bigger scale than just a link to our site.
I have got great contacts in the media and if you can help me
figure out how we can be more involved, I would love to spread
the word. (This sounds like I will only do it if we are more
involved, which is not what I meant, I will spread the word
in any case, but as a creative person myself I think this project
rocks.

Hi Trudi,
Thanks for your enthusiastic reply. I really appreciate it.
It would be fab if we could 'bang our heads together' and turn
the site into something that benefits everyone. If you would
like to host a paper penguin, I have a couple who are eager
to spread their wings (so to speak) and start travelling. I
think it would make a great addition to the paper penguin family
and website.
If you have any ideas on how to progress the Paper Penguin Project
I would love to hear them especially if you have contacts in
the media.
Once again thank you for your reply and I look forward to hearing
from you.
All the best
Guy

Hi Trudi,
I have a group of penguins here that are playing poker to decide
who comes out to stay and work with you at Penguins Eastern
Cape.
If you could let me know the address to send him (or her) to
then when they've finished I can pack their bag and send them
off to you.
Speak to you soon

Hi Guy
I am so sorry that I am only getting back to you now –
but we have had a sudden influx of young penguins and I have
not touched sides. Our address is:
Private Bag X3
Suite 134
St Francis Bay
6312
I will wait for their arrival before I “hit” the
media – or do you want me to start the story from before
you send them? Please send me a contact number as I would love
to discuss the issue with you.
